Windows Home Server: Protect and Simplify Your Digital Life
Welcome to WHSBook.com

Welcome!

When I began working on the manuscript for Windows Home Server: Protect and Simplify Your Digital Life, I percieved a need for a community site that would cater to the readers. WHS was fresh on the scene, and the playing field was still fairly open. I knew that I would need a website to host some content for the book, and I figured that I would combine these two ideas and see what I could build.

Fast forward more than a year since I set off on the bookwriting adventure, and the landscape has changed dramatically, and those changes have led me to the decision to shut down the community portion of WHSBOOK.COM. After finishing writing for the book, I became a MVP for Windows Home Server, soon after that I accepted a full-time position with Microsoft (totally unrelated to WHS activities except that my new team has quite a few WHS enthusiasts). Factoring in a family move, I was left without much time left to devote to the building of a community site.

The last and biggest change in the WHS community landscape was one that I had little control over. The space got crowded by several folks that were doing a much better job of actively building communites. If I had to declare a winner, I would say that Terry Walsh`s creation of We Got Served is my go-to site for all things WHS. If I want info on Add-ins, or the latest news, WGS is the place I go.

If you are looking for a community site or WHS news, head on over to We Got Served. The file content referenced in the book can be found below.
